Dress Up

Both my kids have started to play dress up - all day, every day. They love putting on something that isn't their "normal" clothes. I have since begun to stock up on dress up items. We now have a small basket, but it is ever growing. I love that it helps them imagine and how happy it makes them. 

This is how it started. Clara started bringing me Tyler's clothes to wear and Tyler started bringing me Clara's clothes.

 It soon morphed into putting random kitchen items on the head as hats. This is the top to an air popcorn machine.

 Finally alone!

 This one does have a story and it is a cute one. If you know Tyler, you know he looooooves trucks. A couple weeks ago we had concrete poured in our backyard and Tyler couldn't get enough of the cement truck outside. After watching for a while, he ran back inside, grabbed one of his truck books, opened it to the page with Cement Truck Melvin and ran back outside so show the cement truck outside our house.

Ok back to random. While my mom was here she introduced Tyler to the wonder of playdoh. This night grandma, Tyler, and daddy made a playdoh race track and playdoh cars!

Two Sundays ago it rained! This is seriously a random event - especially this year. After church our tired, hungry boy saw the rain and hopped out of the car with renewed energy and spent the next 30 minutes splashing to his heart content - WITH his Sunday clothes and shoes still on. Eh well, you only live once. 

Science Experiment

I have been trying to come up with things to do with Tyler that are "school" related and this science experiment was a winner! Thank you pinterest! It's your basic vinegar+baking soda = fizz, but we added some fun color to give it some pizazz and Tyler thought it was the coolest! You even get the fine motor skill practice of dropper usage and can mix colors to make new ones. Can't get much better than that.

A Surprise From Grandma L!

Grandma Lerman sent Tyler a surprise in the mail! Tyler had so much fun opening the box to discover a super hero backpack filled with some of his favorite things ever - PUZZLES!!! We have already completed all the puzzles several times! Tyler is in puzzle heaven!

He was so funny! He kept saying, "yook at dat!" "So much fun!" "TRACTORS!" 

Corona Del Mar

We have discovered that our kids looooove the beach! The sand, the water, the picnic lunch, the showers for rinsing, everything! This trip was at a beach in Newport called Corona Del Mar. The weather was perfect, the water was calm, the sand was soft - it was perfect day for the beach. We already went back for another fun filled day, but no pictures. And another trip is already in the works! Now, I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.

  They loved playing in the sand. Clara cried when I picked her up to go home.

 Tyler liked being buried in the sand and asked to be buried over and over and over!

 He especially thought it was great fun to find his toes! (Check out the video at the end)

 He eventually went for the whole body.

 We found a little alcove where the water was so calm. Clara would squirm and wriggle until I put her down in the water and Tyler thought it was a glorified pool. The squealing in delight was music to my ears!

 Back to the water. This is the actual beach and the waves were still really small so Tyler felt safe and loved running back and forth.

 Daddy found a hermit crab and showed Tyler.

 He didn't want to touch it...at all!

 But looking was ok.
